this little one needs an award for ‘best ever one year session’. she was such a little doll and smiled and and modelled for the camera like an old pro. i heart this little family!!

shot with my 24-70 at f/2.8 1/400 800 iso. floor to ceiling window is directly in front of her. processing on this image was done in lightroom… slight vignette added, tint and clarity bumped up a titch, and that is it- great light is the best!!

jaleen is the first photographer i ever second shot with! i always have so much fun with her and this wedding was no exception. here are a couple of my faves from the first part of the wedding day and make sure to go check out what jaleen saw over at her sweet life photography blog.
i just cannot get enough of black and white lately. while i am capturing certain images i often know already that i will want to convert them into black and white. i totally remember thinking that the light where the girls were getting ready was so delicious and contrasty that i would definitely be creating black and white images out of them.
these two had a first look out behind the farmhouse in this fabulously green little area. i was a ways away ready for the brides reactions and this is what i saw! completely cried while capturing this…
every time i second shoot i try to set a new challenge for myself and work on something to help further my photography! at this wedding my goal was to shoot lots with my 85mm lens (a lens that had spent a lot of time in my camera bag). i am so happy i made myself shoot with it because it quickly became my go-to lens and is hands down the favourite of all my lenses!

these two are so super sweet and made my job really easy with how awesome they were in front of the camera. i am so looking forward to their mountain wedding this summer.
