aren’t they adorable?! and isn’t the desert light amazing?! can i please shoot a wedding in scottsdale. pretty please!

i started shooting them at the matrix hotel for a first look. a “first look”  is when the couple sees each other before their wedding ceremony and we do portraits first! if drew and i were getting married all over again we would for sure do a first look.

the moment was so special- i was all teary at the joy and excitement they displayed!

then we had some fun shooting in their suite… jumping on the  bed, pillow fights, they had so much fun!

after the hotel the three of us made our way (on foot) to their ceremony site, stopping along the way for more pics.

they scoped this awesome bus stop- love the orange!

once at the ceremony site, their fur-babby (chopper) joined us for some pics!

ashley simply radiated gorgeousness and happiness!

as you can see, ashley has a super amazing physique and is a personal trainer. i am super excited to start training with her and get my pre-baby body fully back!! you should really check her out by clicking here...

candice was so happy all morning. she had this sweet smile on her face the entire time!

oh, i love capturing the real emotion of the day! i hope when my couples (and their dad’s)  look at their images they are reminded of exactly how they felt…

have i mentioned how much i l.o.v.e. it when a couple makes time in their day to focus on images of just the two of them? we spent some time wandering the paths at the devonian gardens together and created some awesomeness!!

while shooting in the woods at the devonian gardens we couldn’t help but comment on how “twilight-esque” it felt! now, seeing some of the images they totally make me feel all edward and bella.  in honour of this, the  slideshow song is from the twilight soundtrack! enjoy.

first up was to make sure we got a couple pics with their 6 month old pup. isn’t he gorgeous?!

then we focused on getting some images of just the two of them.

when is the last time you had pics done with your partner?! i don’t think you need to be getting married to have a fabulous photoshoot with just you and your special someone.

i started the day at kristen and steve’s house where the girls were getting ready. kirsten was buzzing around taking care of all the last minute details (like re-printing off steve’s speech .

now how is this for convenient… the guys were getting ready at the best-man’s house- ACROSS THE STREET!!! hahahaha. loved it! i made a couple trips back and forth and we went for a little walk around the neighbourhood to grab a few shots of the boys before they went on their way! steve needed lots of help getting his boutonniere juuuust right!

then it was back to the girls where the bridesmaids were all ready to go and it was just kitty left to get into her dress! i love this part. it is so much fun to shoot.

kitty got a little hot from all the attention so one of her bm’s was fanning her. only on your wedding day!

this one makes me so happy!

the girls before the ceremony.  it is such a great idea to have a little time before the ceremony for a couple “formals”.

and then it was off to the church where steve was awaiting his bride. well, actually, we waited for the boys for a bit but that is besides the point (and it was totally the limo’s fault!). i love capturing the groom when he is seeing the bride for the first time. their look says it all! i am always looking at everyone else’s faces too and the groomsmen don’t disappoint!

after the ceremony and family pics we headed to the u of a grounds to roam around to the locations that bree and i scouted. i couldn’t wait to shoot against this wall and it served us well. i love their wedding colours. those bouquets are amazing. oh, and their dance moves too.

there is a theme to their relationship, their friendships, their speeches… both kristen and steve are athletes and sports enthusiasts so there had to be touches of this included in their pics. kristen and the girls brought out their handball shoes and we had some fun.

and then it was some alone time for kristen and steve, and me! i love it when i get time to shoot the bride and groom all on their own and the wedding party can go chill out (and eat) for a while. it was COLD but these two were such troopers.

then it was off to the delta coast plaza for the reception. someone looks excited!!

i think the saying is “many hands make light work”. everyone had a hand in getting this dress done up!!

matt so knows how to “work-it”. i think this one is my fave of the day!

i could do an entire blog post just on erin. she had the best expressions and faces all day. such genuine happiness. i think this laughter was in response to the toast to the bride and being a part of her wolf-pack! lol.

we snuck out before the dance because the sky was so yummy for more toasting to the newlyweds. i like this wedding party’s style

and FYI, caitlyn is just as sweet and amazing as she is gorgeous (so that is lots and lots of sweetness and amazingness!!!). she is going to be a great mamma!

i have met some amazing people while teaching at vic (victoria school of the arts). these guys are WAY up at the top of that list. i have had the honour of teaching both the kids- miss claire when i was doing my student teaching and she was in grade two and then mr. nathan was in my grade six class this year. i always looked forward to celebration’s of learning so i could visit with their parents (in between talking about school, of course!).

it was a perfect sunday afternoon spent capturing these guys. enjoy the images and click here for a slideshow of even more!
