if my first wedding of 2012 is any indication of what the entire season is going to be like then it will be ah.mazing. this wedding was a blast and d and a were so wonderful to be around all day. they are such a perfect pair!

jaleen is the first photographer i ever second shot with! i always have so much fun with her and this wedding was no exception. here are a couple of my faves from the first part of the wedding day and make sure to go check out what jaleen saw over at her sweet life photography blog.

i just cannot get enough of black and white lately. while i am capturing certain images i often know already that i will want to convert them into black and white. i totally remember thinking that the light where the girls were getting ready was so delicious and contrasty that i would definitely be creating black and white images out of them.

these two had a first look out behind the farmhouse in this fabulously green little area. i was a ways away ready for the brides reactions and this is what i saw! completely cried while capturing this…

every time i second shoot i try to set a new challenge for myself and work on something to help further my photography! at this wedding my goal was to shoot lots with my 85mm lens (a lens that had spent a lot of time in my camera bag). i am so happy i made myself shoot with it because it quickly became my go-to lens and is hands down the favourite of all my lenses!

i’ll say it again… i. love. second. shooting. and, especially when it is for an unbelievable photographer like andrea of pink sugar photography. every time i second shoot for her i feel so extremely lucky. this wedding was waaaay back in early july and i was honoured to be a part of it! please enjoy my perspective of the day and then head over to see the amazingness andrea shot.
